Parkhound’s New App Making Waves
Following the relaunch of their parking app in May 2019, Parkhound has seen demand for car spaces increase three-fold. With over 11,000 downloads in the first month of release and 200,000+ users nationwide, the online marketplace captures unique insights on the needs and wants of Australian Drivers.
Some of the insights include:
- Recent parking and proposed congestion levies in major cities is putting increased pressure on inner city supply with prices increasing 7% over the past 6 months.
- Demand for parking in and around residential areas has also surged, suggesting that the CBD’s parking shortages are seeping into the suburbs (particularly for long-term parking).
- Customers are more demanding due to price concerns, and are looking for convenient on-demand solutions.
- More consumers are looking to book via App to guarantee a space.
With current demand outweighing supply 2:1, Parkhound has partnered with several commercial operators to meet the growing need.
One of these partners is Care Park Australia. After running a successful pilot, Parkhound now advertises over 60 car parks nationally for Care Park on it’s platform. As a lead generation source, Parkhound is connecting thousands of Drivers with available Care Park spaces, making sourcing, price comparison and single touch booking and payments a simple process from their phones.
“Parkhound’s tech-lite approach is designed to bring owners onto our platform in a cost effective and seamless way. For partners, the app provides a marketing channel to boost yield, and connect to a digital audience otherwise untapped,” explains Roland Tam, Director of Parkhound.com.au.
Joshua Fitzgibbon, Care Park’s Sales Consultant agrees, “Parkhound’s seamless parking platform, helps connect Care Park with new customers. We are able to reach an extended audience because of this.”
