Privacy Policy

Parking Australia (PA) recognises that privacy is important and we are committed to protecting your personal information. The following statement describes the type of information we hold about our members and contacts, and the type of activities we undertake with the information.

Collection of personal information
PA collects both personal information and anonymous information. We collect personal information about you, for example when you attend one of our events, become a member with us or join our distribution list.

We collect information about our members such your contact details, basic information about your company including your logo, business type, description, website address etc. We also collect information about which PA events you attend and the emails that you open, in order to determine the type of topics that you are most interested in.

Online Surveys
From time to time, PA will invite our members and other interested parties to participate in surveys. These surveys may collect feedback on our products and services, or they may ask for your feedback on industry issues or initiatives that you have undertaken as a company. PA will advise, wherever possible, if the survey is not anonymous and/or if your participation will be linked to you in any way.

In most cases the information collected will only be publicised to speculate about overall industry trends. Personal identifiers (such as quotes) will not be publicised without first gaining your individual consent.

Anonymous Information
PA also collects anonymous information based on how you use of our website. PA uses Google Analytics in order to determine which of our website pages are most visited over time and how long people spend on our website. We do not combine information collected from Google Analytics with personal information you have submitted. We use this information for statistical purposes only to improve the appeal of our website content for its users.

Storage and security of your member details
PA takes all reasonable steps to keep any information that it possesses about you secure by limiting the number of persons with access to this information. PA does not distribute members’ contact information to third party providers.

From time to time, we will distribute messages (on behalf of our sponsors) via our own email marketing software, thereby maintaining confidentiality of member information.

We encourage you to keep your personal information secure, such as passwords and account details used on our websites. It is your sole responsibility to maintain such confidentiality and PA will not be liable for any damage, loss or expense suffered due to disclosure.

How we use your personal information
PA uses personal information provided to us for the following purposes. By agreeing to this policy, you consent to PA using your personal information for the following:

  1. Answering direct enquiries
  2. Providing customer service
  3. Promoting your business on our website via the suppliers guide
  4. Complying with legal obligations where necessary
  5. Allowing us to run our business and perform administrative and operational tasks
  6. Systems development and testing, including our websites
  7. Undertaking planning, research and statistical analysis
  8. Billing and account management
  9. Improving our products, services and websites
  10. Improving our marketing and promotional efforts
  11. Improving the accuracy of the personal information we hold

We may use your personal information to get a better understanding of your needs. Unless you tell us otherwise, we may use this information to bring you products and services which we believe will benefit you and your business. If you are receiving promotional or other information from PA and do not wish to receive this information any longer, you may click the “Unsubscribe” link on PA marketing emails at any time.

In each direct marketing communication, we will include:

    1. a statement appearing on the relevant piece of marketing material notifying you of your right to Opt Out from further communications; and
    2. a simple unsubscribe link

Should you choose to opt out, we will stop using your information for communications such as the monthly newsletter, event information and special offers from our strategic and corporate partners. However, you will still receive essential emails in relation to your membership subscription.

Online Suppliers Directory
PA features an online suppliers directory on our website in order to promote your business to members of the parking industry. Your company description, website, business locations (states) and company logo are publicly available on our website. PA members can also log in to access other members’ contact details (email, contact person, phone number).

If you would prefer not be featured in the online suppliers directory you can contact PA directly to request that your details remain confidential. It is the responsibility of individual members to ensure that the information published is correct. Members can update their profile by logging in online and updating their company and contact details (which are used for the suppliers’ directory).

Anonymous information
In some cases PA provides anonymous demographic information to advertisers so they can assess whether they wish to participate in advertising with the association. All information disclosed in these circumstances will be stripped entirely of all personal identifiers. Your personal information will not be disclosed.

Delegates attending PA events
In some cases PA may provide the name, organisation and email address of delegates attending our conventions to top-level event sponsors. Delegates will be provided with the opportunity of opting out at the registration stage and in this case we will not share their contact details with third parties.

Accessing your information
You can request a copy of the personal information we hold about you by contacting us using one of the methods listed at the end of this Privacy Policy. Some of this information is accessible by logging into your online PA account and viewing your profile details.

There is no fee for making such requests and we will endeavour to make your information available within 28 days of the initial request. PA reserves the right to confirm your identity before providing you with this information.

PA takes reasonable precautions to ensure that the personal information we collect and use is complete, relevant and up-to-date. However, the accuracy of the personal information we receive depends to a large extent on the information you provide. We recommend you let us know if there are any errors in your personal information by contacting PA.

Making a complaint
If you have a concern about your privacy, you have a right to make a complaint and we’ll do everything we can to put matters right.

To lodge a complaint, please get in touch with us using the contact details provided below. PA will review your complaint and endeavour to resolve it immediately. Usually, it takes only a few days to resolve a complaint. However, if we’re unable to provide a final response within 30 days, we’ll contact you to explain why and discuss a timeframe to resolve the complaint.
