Message from the President – Angelique Mentis

Dear Parking Australia Community,

2023 has taken off with a big bang!  Starting with our Events –

C Y B E R

Our recent Cybersecurity Forum in Melbourne on 15 February was an extremely popular, informative and fun networking event (yes, they did have to ask us to leave more than once!). Attendees gained valuable knowledge and practical guidance around cyber threats to their businesses in the parking industry. If you couldn’t make the event, please log into our Members Resources Section to view the recorded presentations.  Special thanks to our sponsors, TNS and First Parking.

Listening to our members and community, we’ll be taking a deeper dive into the hot topic of EVs and EV Charging – who, what, why and how it’s shaping up for the parking industry. With some great case studies, key factors to think about, and a whole host of considerations that property owners need to look at when assessing EV charging readiness.

So P L U G May 10 into your calendars to join us in Adelaide for what promises to be an electric session with drinks and networking.

As announced last month, Parking Australia managed to negotiate discounted rates for our members going to IPMI who sign up through PA. For those of you who are heading over, we’ll be hosting small get togethers before we go, so you’ve got a PA “tribe” to connect with in advance. If you’re heading over to IPMI, please let us know and we’ll include you in our PA pre-events.

This year we’ll be hosting our Parking Conference in Sydney in October – lots of learnings, content and upskilling for our members and community. Not just for parking suppliers, this year we’ll be extending the content and attendees to a much broader reach than in prior years.

And with that not to miss out on the P A R K I N G  I N D U S T R Y  A W A R D S … the night to G L A M  I T  U P with our industry for a fabulous dinner, awards presentation and some excellent entertainment.

More to come on the Conference and Awards over the next few weeks so watch this space!

To make sure you get the most out of your PA membership, please take a moment to update your member profiles to include all your team members (just like family!) that you’d like to be included on newsletters, resources and communications. You can do this by either logging into your PA account and updating directly. Or if you need a little help, please contact Trish Paul, our Operations Manager at paa@parking.asn.au and she will assist.

This way your team will have access to all the member resources, and can attend our member networking functions for F R E E along with discounted registration to our annual conference and parking industry awards.

With Stuart Norman having moved on to his new role (again, thank you Stuart for your years of service as CEO of PA), the recruitment for a new CEO is underway.

The Board is very excited about the future direction of Parking Australia. We are committed to bringing you the best and the brightest in terms of knowledge, programs, international trends and networking going forward, with a fresh energy and vigour.

On that note, we welcome feedback and suggestions from our entire community on how we can make Parking Australia more dynamic, relevant and add value for you as our members and the industry as a whole.

Your input is extremely important to us, and we want to hear from you! Please email us at paa@parking.asn.au

Personally, I would like to thank each and every one of our directors who volunteer their time, effort and networks for Parking Australia, especially during this time when we’re between CEOs.

Warm regards,

Angelique Mentis

President
