The parking industry and driverless vehicles in Australia – a match made in heaven?
Peter Damen, Chair of the Executive Steering Committee of the Australian Driverless Vehicle Initiative (ADVI), has been announced as a speaker at PACE 2016 in November.
Peter will speak on the latest developments in automated vehicle technologies, he will explore what it means for the parking industry in Australia, and describe what the Australian Driverless Vehicle Initiative is working to achieve. What is our driving future likely to look like in the next 5 to 10 years and then beyond?
Peter Damen is the Chair of the Executive Steering Committee of the Australian Driverless Vehicle Initiative, which aims to accelerate the safe and successful introduction of driverless vehicles onto Australian roads.
ADVI is driven by a collective of over 60 partners including industry, government and academia and is hosted by the Australian Road Research Board (ARRB), where Peter is the General Manager.
Peter is a qualified engineer with over 25 years’ experience in the transport industry with a solid background in research, innovation and emerging technologies. Peter has chaired or participated in numerous industry associations, state advisory committees, accreditation panels, and learned societies.
Peter is also responsible for other major national initiatives including the National Road Safety Program Partnership and the National Assets Centre for Excellence.
