New parking facilities guide to be delivered at PACE

The Roadmarking Industry Association of Australia will present a session at PACE 2021 on the new off-street parking facilities marking guide on Monday 23 August.

The guide, which was released in June last year, outlines the standards of operation required in the pavement marking of off-street parking facilities, offering best practice guidance on material types, application rates and methods. The guide is intended to complement existing specifications and provide detail on the issues not covered by regulations.

David Eldridge, a director of the Roadmarking Industry Association of Australia (RIAA) since its inception, will present the session.

David has been involved in the road and linemarking industry for over 40 years. Predominantly operating as a linemarking contractor, he is also developing materials and application systems to improve various performance aspects of roadmarkings. David represents the RIAA to organisations such as the Standards Australia Committee MS-12 (AS1742), CSIRO (Painting Contractor Certification Program / Australian Paint Approval Scheme), Road Authority Pavement Marking Group, and Austroads (Guide to Temporary Traffic Management).

David is the author of a series of technical documents for the RIAA, detailing materials, facilities and methods for pavement markings, including the Off-Street Parking Facilities Guide.
