DUNCAN SOLUTIONS EQUIPS MARIBYRNONG PARKING ENFORCEMENT

When Maribyrnong City Council was looking to upgrade their handheld infringement issuance system, they found exactly what they required in Duncan Solutions‘ AutoISSUE – a flexible, dynamic and user-friendly solution that can integrate with any third-party software with ease.

For parking enforcement officers, an extensive amount of time is spent standing, walking, chalking tyres, and patrolling. This will often involve working after-hours, with officers on the street from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., seven days a week.Sprawling modern cities require a parking enforcement system that will guarantee reliability and an operational uptime of up to 18 hours a day.

Coordinator for Parking & Local Laws at Maribyrnong City Council, Craig Ion, discussed how Duncan Solutions provided the best proposal for their needs. “We needed to update our handheld system” he said “and wanted a new android application that was easy for the officers, a more user-friendly system that could manage cautions and infringements for all of Maribyrnong’s parking, local laws, animal control, building and health.”

“As the solution needed to be used by a number of departments, it had to have a flexible and open ability to integrate with other systems,” continues Craig. AutoISSUE, backed by Duncan’s Parking Enterprise Management System (PEMS), was built to share data. PEMS collects, analyses and transmits relevant information to and from a number of managed applications quickly and securely, including parking meters, in-ground sensors, license plate recognition cameras, pay by phone installations, permit systems and the officer’s handheld devices. “This creates real efficiencies for our team whilst in the field.”

“AutoISSUE & PEMS met all our requirements, enabling our officers to make informed decisions in real-time about enforcement using a single Android device, not a number of different pieces of equipment as has been the case previously.”

With 20 AutoISSUE android devices set to be deployed in the near future, the streets of Maribyrnong will be in very capable hands.
