December 2024 Message from the CEO – Jeremy Irvine

CEO’s December Briefing

What a year. As I reflect on the past twelve months, firstly a thank you to all our members, supporters, and stakeholders and our Board for your involvement during the year.

Visits, Awards and recent events

A highlight of my role is getting out and meeting members, which I’ve enjoyed greatly again this year. In recent times that’s included ptc., Secure Parking and Olinga Services (a new member – welcome!) in Sydney as well as Deakin University in Geelong. I look forward to catching up with more members in 2025 including in Perth when I’ve over for our first event on Wednesday 26 February.

Parking Australia held events in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney (twice), Adelaide and Perth as well as partnering with the National Roads & Traffic Expo (from 2025 re-branded to Highways AU) and then our Parking Industry Awards (which those in attendance will understand I’m still recovering from #envelopegate about…!).

The Awards highlights video is below and the reflections on the late Michael Moses and Glen Holdsworth are here. Thank you to all our nominees, finalists, winners, and sponsors, our 30-plus years’ service recognition recipients as well as our judges – and all guests who joined us on the evening. Also, a huge thanks to the many Parking Australia member sponsors and exhibitors, as well as the fantastic speakers at the National Roads & Traffic Expo over the two busy and fun days.

Photos from the Awards night are on the Parking Australia Facebook page.

Our final networking event for the year was in Sydney on 27 November with the topic: The big picture – where does parking fit in the broader policy and planning landscape? Members can log into the member-only site under presentations for the panel session and Q&A. A shout out to ARMA for hosting us on a day where we acknowledged Mosstyn Howell who retired from the Parking Australia Board. We also welcomed newly elected Director Andrew Morse to the Board. Thank you to our panellists, Ed Morris, Ryan Nibloe, Stacey Ryan, and Dimitra Vlahomitros, as well as Parking Australia’s Angelique Mentis for moderating.

2025 dates – add in your calendar now

We’re excited to announce the schedule for our quarterly industry networking events for 2025, which will be held on a Wednesday from 3.00pm – 6.00pm local time, on the following dates and in the following cities.

As we did in 2024, we’re partnering with Highways AU in 2025 in October in Sydney.

If you’re interested in being either a sponsor (Venue, Major Event, or Networking Session) at Parking Australia networking events, sponsorship packages are bespoke and developed in collaboration with the firms and are based on a range of factors including for example links to the topic, relevance to the audience/market, and ongoing engagement with members.  Sponsor interest is open and can be provided to CEO Jeremy Irvine at any time within the principle of first come, first served.

To be part of Highways AU, contact Hoss Esmaeilzadeh at 02 8908 8512 or hoss.esmaeilzadeh@terrapinn.com to reserve your spot and ensure your presence at this high-profile, major parking industry event.

Engagement

We thank all our members for your support during 2025 including our three Platinum members (First Parking, TNS, and Wilson Parking) and Gold members, with long-standing member Nationwide now becoming a Gold member (thanks Fedi).

Our final member briefing this year includes an advocacy briefing and details of recent state government matters including in Victoria and NSW, for example.

Members can read more on these matters and other Parking Australia member news by logging into the member portal.
