Brisbane’s the Myer Centre car park goes digital

In partnership with CV Media & Design, the Myer Centre Car Park in Brisbane is the latest location to step in the digital direction. Owned and managed by Vicinity Centres, one of Australia’s leading retail property groups, employing digital parking technology was a natural progression for the innovative company; “The adoption of new technology into our operations can provide wide ranging benefits from a customer’s point of view right through to our suppliers.”

Located in the hub of the Brisbane CBD, Vicinity Centres recognised the heightened need within the competitive market to improve the Myer Centre Car Park communications. CV Media & Design provided Vicinity Centres with Dynamic Parking Kiosks for the Car Park entrance along with the retrofit of an existing LED street sign enabling the sign to be operated by a cloud-based content management system.

The Dynamic Parking Kiosks provide Vicinity with a flexible rate board allowing for prices to be updated in accordance with customer numbers and other external impacts, i.e. events and traffic. The rate board has been complemented with special rates and car wash advertisements, animated by CV Media & Design’s in-house graphic design team. This advertising capability provides Vicinity Centres with a future opportunity for increased revenue by engaging with nearby businesses.

Enabling the LED street signage to be managed cloud-based has provided Vicinity with 24-hour access and flexibility in their message updates. With traffic and parking conditions consistently changing, Vicinity can now provide up to date parking availability in busier periods or highlight cheaper rates in slower periods. Situated in a busy location, engaging street based signage was essential for the Myer Centre Car Park to capture the attention of potential customers.
