On behalf of the Parking Association of Australia we are delighted to invite you to participate in the 12th Australian Parking Convention and Trade Exhibition, (APC2010) in the beautiful city of Sydney, Australia from 7-9 November 2010.

The Organising Committee invites you to submit an abstract of original research for presentation at the 12th Australian Parking Convention in Sydney.

The PAA has great pleasure in confirming that the Key Note Speaker for the Convention will be Donald Shoup, FAICP, Professor of Urban Planning at the University of California, Los Angeles and author of the landmark book titled “The High Cost of Free Parking”. Professor Shoup, who was referred to as a “Parking rock star” by the Wall Street Journal, will be present throughout the Convention and delegates will be able to hear his thoughts and research on parking achieved over many years of work.

Project: TRUSTSEAL "Securaticket"
The ACT Government required a solution to overcome various schemes of forged and home printed parking tickets. TMA Group of Companies developed a TRUST SEAL ‘Securaticket’ which included a number of security features to prevent fraudulent activity.
Park Assist Pty Ltd
Award: Technical Award for Excellence
Project: Park Assist Guidnace System, Rouse Hill Town Centre
Park Assist developed a system that provides parking for motorists visiting the Rouse Hill Town Centre within 2 minutes, irrespective of peak occupancy. When parking spaces are occupied, the LED Pilot Light shows red and when the parking space is empty the LED Pilot Light shows green.

Award: Planning and Management Award for Excellence
Project: Carbon Off-Set Program - A Climate Change Initiative
The City of Perth Parking realises the environmental impact of motorists and therefore planted 85,000 trees at Konjonup in Western Australia. City of Perth is the first local authority in Australia to commit to a climate change initiative in the form of carbon sequestration by planting and maintaining trees for a 40 year period, funded from its parking business revenue.
